Fashion: Madrid summer catwalk 2010 with Kina Fernandez

Designer: Kina Fernandez from La Coruña/ Spain

Today we are going to talk about Kina Fernández´s summer collection 2010 in “pasarela/catwalk “Cibeles in Madrid.

The bright colours of a tropical garden in bloom set the scene in Madrid´s catwalk for the spring-summer 2010 of Kina Fernández, where cocktails dresses had pride of place. Floral prints came in electric blue, coral, green and black and are deconstructed to isolate colours so that each can speak for itself.

In coral colour, there were dresses with elaborate bodices – with frills, draping and pleats – and carefully-defined waists, as well as tulip dresses that rose above the knee. Electric blue and green added colour to diaphanous evening and cocktail gowns decorated with bows and full of asymmetry. Black is used in an ornamental fashion in lace frills which edge Forties-style designs to timeless dresses with white polka dots on black with plenty of swirl.

Floral prints make an intermittent appearance in electric blue gauze mini-dresses or take over completely in outfits like the applauded shirt-necked mermaid dress, which was a synthesis of the lines and colours that made up this collection.

Kina Fernández moves away from this tropical explosion in a series of cocktail dresses, skirts and suits with jackets in a crinkle effect, and in a range of ethereal designs in sailor stripes in coral and sandy-brown.
