From my hometown, La Coruña in Spain to the world

Zara’s biggest US shop for Chicago

Located on North Michigan Avenue, the new branch is in the “Windy City”’s main shopping area.

Zara’s second shop in Chicago and Inditex’s biggest store in the USA has just opened for business. With a spectacular façade that is 15 m. high and 60 m wide and an equally impressive 1,500 sq. m. sales area spread over three storeys, it is at 700, North Michigan Avenue, in the main shopping district in the state of Illinois.

Zara has chosen this store to launch its new interior design, intended to make the customer’s encounter with its fashions easy and convenient. The displays reveal the clothes in possible combinations, while mannequins sport looks based on the brand’s latest collection. A blend of subtle shades of brown, beige and grey contrast with black and white to elegant effect.

The chain opened its first store in Chicago in 2008, at the Old Orchard Center in Skokie. Before the end of 2009, it plans to open another on North State Street (Block 37). Zara now has 47 shops in major US cities, including New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Washington and Miami.

The Inditex group operates in 73 countries in Europe, America, Asia and Africa and has more than 4,400 shops in total. In addition to Zara, it owns another seven fashion chains: Pull and Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home and Uterqüe.
